Beachfront House in Tahiti

Wake up and fall asleep with the sound of the waves crushing on the reef… Start the day with a swim in the lagoon… wind down with a happy hour watching the sunset over Moorea. Built in 2018 and designed for island outdoor living, our home is in a premium location, 12km from Papeete, on the west coast of Tahiti and facing sister island Moorea. With all conveniences within easy reach, yet with just the lagoon’s clear waters at your feet and no road noises, we feel secluded from the city. I am Tahitian; my husband is Swiss. We lived on four continents before settling in one of the two houses. We have been a vegetarian household since 1988 and switched to vegan in 2013.

The space

The property is made of 2 adjoining and identical houses. The guests house sleeps up to 9 people, with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with double sinks (2 bedrooms on the ground floor, and a master bedroom overlooking the lagoon and Mo’orea, with its balcony and full bathroom upstairs); a full kitchen with stainless steel counters, and a living/dining room. Outdoor spaces are shared; they include a covered patio (which can also be used as an outdoor dining area), a large deck that drops unto the beach, a laundry room, 2 outdoor showers and an outdoor toilet, and parking space in the backyard. Tipapa and Taita, our 2 gentle Tahitian shepherds live outdoors on the property.
